From Good Housekeeping

  • On Friday, Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were sentenced to two and five months in prison, respectively, for their involvement in the college admissions scandal.

  • The couple paid half a million dollars in bribes to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California.

  • Candace Cameron Bure, who worked with Lori on Full House and Fuller House, responded to the news on Instagram.

Candace Cameron Bure has stood by Lori Loughlin through it all.

Just weeks after Lori and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were charged with their involvement in the college admissions scandal, the actress proved her loyalty to her former Full House and Fuller House co-star during an acceptance speech at the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: "Family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times. They support each other. They encourage one another. They pray for each other, and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets."

One year later, Candace echoed her initial feelings shortly after Lori and Mossimo's sentencing. The couple was found guilty of paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California. Lori was sentenced to serve two months in prison, pay a $150,000 fine, and perform community service, whereas Mossimo was sentenced to serve five months in prison, pay a $250,000 fine, and perform community service.

First, Candace responded to a comment left on an Instagram post by Entertainment Tonight. When someone mentioned that Lori and Mossimo should each get four years in prison to make up for the students who weren't admitted to USC due to their actions, Candace simply replied, "😔."

Hours later, she took to Instagram to remind her followers to "always lift up others."

While some fans connected the timing of her Instagram post with the recent sentencing news ("Thoughts of Lori and family on this day," one fan commented.), most took Candace's message to heart and lifted her up with heartfelt comments:

  • "You're the sweetest person on Earth 💜"

  • "You look like the cutest mermaid in this picture! Thanks for always lifting us up 😘"

  • "Your [sic] such a light in this world 💜"

Despite the occasional cryptic message, the Full House cast has stayed rather quiet about Lori's scandal. While exiting a restaurant last March, John Stamos and Bob Saget were asked about the current situation: "I usually don't do interviews on the street, but you love who you love in your life," Bob told the paparazzi. John kept his feelings to himself, simply saying that he's "not ready to talk about it."

Dave Coulier opened up to Us Weekly about why he'll always stand by his friend and former co-star: "However this kind of turns out, we’re there for her. The images that people see aren’t always what is true. And Lori is one of my closest and dearest friends on the planet, and it’s really unfortunate that this has happened, and I will be there for her forever."
