The virtual Democratic National Convention kicked off tonight and will continue all week. The first night, hosted by Eva Longoria, featured speeches from Bernie Sanders and Michelle Obama. It also included performances from Leon Bridges and Maggie Rogers. Bridges performed his new song “Sweeter” alongside Terrace Martin. Rogers performed “Back in My Body.” Watch both performances below.
The night also featured the unveiling of a new video package soundtracked by Bruce Springsteen’s “The Rising.” Watch that below. Other performers at the convention this week include Billie Eilish, the Chicks, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Common, and Stephen Stills. The convention will lead to Vice President Joe Biden officially accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination for president. Biden recently selected Senator Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential running mate.
