The opening sketch poked fun at Election Day week across the country, which came to a head Saturday morning when Joe Biden was projected as the president-elect.
"I’ve never felt so alive which is ironic because I’m not that alive," Carrey’s Biden said during his first speech as president-elect just hours after his real-life counterpart attempted to unite the nation outside the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

Carrey’s Biden maintained that he would be "gracious" in his victory, but his running mate had other plans.
Maya Rudolph's Kamala Harris, who said her historic firsts "checked more boxes than a disqualified ballot," asked if she could rub it in the Trump administration’s face just a little.

She then played a song on her phone: the viral "Lose Yo Job” anthem .
Carrey’s Biden and Rudolph's Harris broke into a victory dance. Carrey even repeated his iconic "Ace Ventura" line.
"There must be a winner and a loser," Carrey’s Biden said.
And to children wondering why their mothers are switching between "laughing to crying to dancing pretty much all night," Rudolph’s Harris reassured them, "it’s not because she’s crazy, it’s because she’s drunk."
Meanwhile, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, who said he’s been awake "so long my weird stubbly beard makes sense," directed everyone's attention to a concession speech from Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump.

Trump, however, claimed it was his own "victory speech" after repeating that the “election is rigged.”
The president then proceeded to “remind all of you who I really am.” Seated behind a piano, Trump performed a slowed down rendition of the Village People’s “Macho Man.”
Baldwin’s Trump signed off: “This isn’t a goodbye America, this is a see you in court."
Hours after the real Joe Biden and Kamala Harris spoke for the first time following news they had become the next president-elect and vice president-elect of the United States, Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph put their own "SNL" spin on things.
Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump performed a piano rendition of "Macho Man" in what his character dubbed his own "victory speech."
Meanwhile, Beck Bennett and Alex Moffat made appearances as CNN's Wolf Blitzer and John King.

John Mulaney returned to "Saturday Night Live" to host for the fourth time in four seasons on the show's Halloween episode. Ahead of Election Day, the stand-up comedian gave a politics-heavy opening monologue, roasting New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's COVID news conferences ("He was talking Smurf language after a while") and calling Tuesday's upcoming election "an elderly man contest."
In the fifth episode's opening sketch, Joe Biden (Jim Carrey) channeled Edgar Allan Poe for a spooky election parody of "The Raven," which also featured cameos by Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph), Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon), Ice Cube (Kenan Thompson), Lil Wayne (Chris Redd) and Mitch McConnell (Beck Bennett). "It's a spooky time filled with demons and darkness. Also, it's Halloween," Carrey's Biden said. "For some Trump voters, it's the only day they'll wear a mask."
John Mulaney returned to "SNL" with a New York musical that begins when a man (Pete Davidson) tries to buy a disgusting pair of underpants from a gift shop in Times Square.
Rubberband Ronnie (Chris Redd), Pitty Pat Patricia (Punkie Johnson), Crazy Legs Jimmy (Kenan Thompson) and Michelle (Ego Nwodim) sang about voter suppression in a catchy music video that describes "Strollin' " to the polls.
Musical guest The Strokes performed "The Adults Are Talking" and "Bad Decisions."
A visibly thrilled Adele hosted "Saturday Night Live" for Season 46's fourth episode, which tackled President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee's Joe Biden's final debate and sent up "The Bachelor."
"Coronavirus, so boring, right? But we're doing terrific," Alec Baldwin's Trump said. "We're rounding the corner. In fact, we've rounded so many corners … we're back where we started in March."

In the third episode of the season, Jim Carrey's Joe Biden sang "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" in a Mister Rogers-esque cardigan, nodding to Trump campaign adviser Mercedes Schlapp comparing Biden's ABC town hall to “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”

"SNL opened its second episode with an opening sketch spoofing the vice presidential debate, in which a fly landed on Vice President Mike Pence's head. In the "SNL" version, Jim Carrey's Joe Biden played the fly.
Maya Rudolph's Kamala Harris was in on the fly jokes, too.
Kate McKinnon played USA TODAY Washington Bureau Chief Susan Page, who moderated the debate.
Comedian Bill Burr hosted the Oct. 10 show.
