Slemker unveils men's soccer All-Decade Starting XI - WSURaiders.com

As the decade comes to a close, Wright State head men's soccer coach Jake Slemker has put together his All-Decade Starting XI.

Before taking over as head coach in 2018, Slemker played for the Raiders from 2003 to 2006 and was a four-year starter in the backfield. He joined the Wright State staff in 2010 as an assistant coach and has seen every player to wear the green and gold on the pitch, over the last decade.

Let's meet the All-Decade Starting XI:

Goalkeeper

Joel Sundell, Norrkoping, Sweden: 2016 – 2019
Sundell logged 4,999:64 minutes in goal, tallied 194 saves, and 12 shutouts. Registered an overall record of 31-11-7. In 2017, was named Second Team All-Horizon League and First-Team All Ohio. 2018 would earn Sundell Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year Honors and a First Team All-Conference Selection. Helped the Raiders earn a Horizon League Championship Title in 2019 and reach the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

Midfielders

Jackson Dietrich, Las Vegas, NV: 2015 – 2019
Dietrich appeared in 75 matches for the Raiders recording 25 goals and 34 helpers during his career. In 2015, was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Year. Earned Second Team All-Horizon honors as well as being named to the All-Tournament Team and Third Team All-North Region in 2016. A United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team and Horizon League's All-Conference First Team selection in 2018. A United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team and Horizon League's All-Conference Second Team selection in 2019. Helped the Raiders earn a Horizon League Championship Title and reach the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

Deri Corfe, Chester, United Kingdom: 2018 – 2019
Though Corfe's time as a Raider was short, he appeared in 40 matches starting in 38. He logged 3,341 total minutes tallying 23 goals and adding 16 helpers. An All-North Region Second Team selection in 2018. Corfe was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region First Team along with being named to the Horizon League's All-Conference First Team in 2019. Helped the Raiders earn a Horizon League Championship Title in 2019 and reach the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. Selected 41st overall with the 15th selection in the second round of the 2020 Major League Soccer Super Draft by the New York Red Bulls.

AJ Paterson, Key Largo, FL: 2014 – 2017
Paterson appeared in 76 games for the Raiders, starting 44 of those contests. Finished his career with 15 goals and seven assists. Earned Second team All-Horizon League and All-Tournament Team honors in 2016. Was named the 2017 Horizon League Player of the Year, First Team All-Horizon League while also being selected First Team Great Lakes Region and All-Ohio. Selected 42nd overall with the 19th selection in the second round of the 2018 Major League Soccer Super Draft by New York City Football Club (NYCFC). He currently plays for Charleston Battery of the USL Championship.  

Emy Ononye, Richmond, ONT, Canada: 2011 – 2014
Ononye dawned the green and gold in 76 contests, starting 70 of those. Tallied seven goals and one assist during his career. In 2014, he earned First Team All-Horizon League and was selected to NSCAA Third Team All-Great Lakes Region. He also received Second Team All-Horizon League honors in 2013. In 2015, Ononye was signed to a USL contract with Toronto FC II.

Derek Zuniga, Massillon, OH: 2010 – 2013
Zuniga appeared in 70 contests for the Raiders starting in 61 during his career. Recorded eight goals and 12 assists while also tallying five game winners. In 2010 was named to the 100 Top Freshman Team. In 2012 Zuniga was selected to the Second Team All-Horizon League. He was also a three year captain for the Raiders.

Bryce Rockwell-Ashton, Fort Wayne, IN: 2010 – 2014
Rockwell-Ashton appeared in 73 games for Wright State with 27 of those being starts. Tallied 11 goals and 13 assists for the green and gold. First Team All-Horizon League selection in 2011. Named Team MVP following the 2011 season.

Forwards

Eric Lynch, Bellbrook,OH: 2013 – 2016
Lynch appeared in 81 games with 75 starts for the Raiders tallying 21 goals and 30 assists during his career. Recorded 10 game-winning goals for Wright State and 81 shots on goal. In 2014 he led the NCAA in assists (13) and earned Horizon League player of the year and Offensive Player of the Year honors.  Was also a First Team All-League and Second Team NSCAA All Great Lakes Region selection. First Team All-Horizon selection in 2015. First Team All-League honoree as he was fourth in the league in assists and points and tied for fifth in goals in 2016.

Peguy Ngatcha, Manchester, NH: 2013 – 2016
Ngatcha appeared in 60 games with 51 starts during his time at Wright State. He tallied 24 goals and eight assist while wearing the green and gold. An NSCAA Third Team All Great Lake Region selection in 2014. In 2015 was selected to the All-Tournament Team for the Horizon League. He was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and the 2016 Horizon League Player of the Year. Ngatcha was selected by the Colorado Rapids in the fourth round of the 2017 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

Defenders

Dan Bent, Kent, England: 2016 – 2018
Bent appeared in and started all 48 games during his Raider career. Was named the Horizon League Defensive Play of the Year back-to-back seasons (2017 & 18), while also a First Team All-Horizon League selection both seasons as well. In 2018, was tabbed a third-team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, for the first time in program history as well as a First-Team All-North region and All-Ohio selection. Bent currently plays for F.C. Bruno's Magpies, of the Gibraltar National League.

Jake Stovall, Centerville, OH: 2013 – 2016
Stovall appeared in 71 contests for the Raiders, starting 64. The Centerville product recorded seven goals, including three game winning goals. Tallied six helpers during his career. In 2013, was selected to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team. Was selected First Team All-League and Third Team All-Great Lakes Region as well as All-Ohio Second Team in 2016. Stovall was selected by Seattle Sounders in the third round of the 2017 Major League Soccer SuperDraft following his senior season.
