RICHMOND, Virginia – UNCW sophomore goalkeeper Blair Barefoot has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year in voting by the league's 10 head women's soccer coaches.

Barefoot headlines a group of four Seahawks earning a spot on the Preseason All-CAA Team, which was unveiled by league officials on Thursday. Graduate student forward Audrey Harding, redshirt senior midfielder Morgan Nanni and senior defender Talia Parrous also received Preseason All-CAA notice.

The Seahawks were picked to finish in a tie with defending CAA champion Elon for second place in the regular season standings. Hofstra was selected as the unanimous choice to claim the league title, collecting all nine possible first-place votes.

The Seahawks, 7-3-0 last spring, open the 2021 regular season on Sunday, Aug. 22, with a 1 p.m. game against VCU at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The First-Team All-CAA performer led UNCW to a 3-2 victory over Northeastern in the CAA semifinals with eight saves after notching a six-save performance against Charleston to receive CAA Rookie of the Week plaudits.

Harding was also named to the CAA's top team last spring after ranking fourth in the league with 14 points on the strength of five goals and four assists. The Akron, Ohio, product was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week after netting two goals with two assists in the Seahawks' 5-0 rout of Coastal Carolina.

Harding enters the new season ranked 12th in program history with 43 career points and her 15 career goals are good for 14th place.
