The Wisconsin men’s basketball program got some love on Tuesday.
More Badgers coverage
Senior point guard D’Mitrik Trice, a Huber Heights, Ohio native, was named to the All-Big Ten third team, as selected by a media voting panel.
He was the only Badgers player to receive postseason recognition.
Trice, who has played a sizable role for Wisconsin since stepping foot on campus in 2016, averaged 14.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists across 26 games this season.
He scored a season-high 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting against the Fighting Illini on Feb. 27. In that contest, he nailed six 3-pointers and added a pair of assists.
Trice and the rest of the Badgers are currently prepping for the start of the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday.
Wisconsin (16-11), a No. 6 seed, will first square off against the winner of No. 14 Nebraska and No. 11 Penn State on Thursday. Tip-off will roughly occur at 5:55 p.m. Should they win, they’ll face No. 3 Iowa, led by back-to-back Big Ten Player of the Year Luke Garza, in the quarterfinals.
