A super senior from Franklin, Tennessee, DePriest is the current NCAA D-I leader for career goals scored with 46. Throughout her four-year career, DePriest has been named C-USA Player of the Year (2019), two-time Offensive Player of the Year (2019 & 2018), and Freshman of the Year (2017). DePriest has also permanently etched her legacy into the Middle Tennessee record books as the current program leader in goals scored for their career and is currently two goals shy from breaking the conference record to become the C-USA's all-time leading scorer over the league's 26-year history.
During the Blue Raiders 2020-21 campaign, DePriest tied for a team-high four goals and eight points. DePriest committed 16 shots and had eight on target for a .500 shot on goal percentage. DePriest also led the team with three game-winners over the six-game season.
In the team poll, Rice was picked to finish first in the West division and garnering a league-high 12 first-place votes. North Texas was slotted second with two first-place votes. Southern Miss rounds out the top-3 in the west, followed by UAB, UTEP, UTSA, and Louisiana Tech in fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively.
Middle Tennessee was selected to finish fifth in the east. Florida Atlantic is the east favorite, earning three first-place votes. Charlotte and Western Kentucky tied for second in the poll, both collecting five first-place votes. Old Dominion came in right above the Blue Raiders in fourth with one first-place vote, while FIU and Marshall were picked sixth and seventh to round out the division.
The Blue Raiders kick off the 2021 season against the Belmont Bruins tonight at 7:30 p.m. inside Dean A Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium.
