CTA Shuts Down All Trains And Buses Sunday Night - Block Club Chicago

CHICAGO — All service on the CTA is being suspended Sunday night as the city braces for another night of damage throughout the area.

The CTA previously stopped service for trains and buses headed to the Loop, as officials tried to block crowds and prevent further destruction in the area. Buses were not running between Fullerton Avenue and 47th Street, and between the Lakefront and Western Avenue.

But after 5:15 p.m., it announced all service would be suspended as of 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

[Service Suspended] At 6:30pm, service will be suspended on all bus and rail lines at the request of public safety officials. Service is expected to resume tomorrow morning.

Pace, the suburban public transit service, also announced it was suspending service as of 6:30 p.m.

Divvy, the bike-sharing service, also closed all stations at 4 p.m. Sunday. The service said it would “reopen as soon as possible” but did not give a time for when bikes would be available again.
