Sophomore Terka Grusova was a first-team selection for achieving a grade point average of 3.50 or higher in addition to receiving an invitation to the NCAA Championships.
Five additional Scarlet Knights – junior Lauren Boone, freshman Sofia Chichaikina, sophomore Jenna Douglass, freshman Elinah Phillip and sophomore Marina Wilkins – each drew honorable mention honors for similarly achieving a 3.50 GPA and achieving either a "B" time standard or competing at NCAA Zones.
The CSCAA Scholar All-American honors comes on the heels of the Scarlet Knights earning their 13th-straight CSCAA Scholar All-American Team honor after boasting a spring term GPA of 3.689. Additionally, the team had 21 Big Ten All-Academic honorees and nine Big Ten Distinguished scholars featuring five Scarlet Knights who boasted a 4.0 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year.
Rutgers CSCAA Scholar All-Americans
Terka Grusova
A sport management major, Grusova was named a CSCAA All-American after becoming a repeat NCAA qualifier in the 100 and 200 back. A Second Team All-Big Ten honoree, she captured silver in the 100 back at the Big Ten Championships marking the highest finish for a Scarlet Knight since joining the league. She also helped set school records in the 200 free and 400 free relays. Grusova was also a recipient of Big Ten All-Academic honors.
Lauren Boone
A journalism and media studies major, Boone scored a career-best on the platform at zones and posted RU's top performance in the event at Big Ten Championships. A two-time Big Ten All-Academic and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar award winner, she was also her high school valedictorian. Boone also serves on the SAAC Executive Board as the VP of Community Outreach.
Sofia Chichaikina
In her first season, Chichaikina set four school records (100 free, 200 free, 200 free relay & 400 free relay) and four pool records (100 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 800 free relay). She had a Big Ten podium finish with the 200 and 400 free relay teams and swam in the B finals of the 50 and 100 free. Additionally she was a two-time Big Ten Freshman Swimmer of the Week.
Jenna Douglass
A chemical engineering major, Douglass qualified for the zone finals on the platform in addition to competing on the 1- and 3-meter. A Big Ten All-Academic and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree, she was one of the 23 winter student-athletes from the conference to be recognized for maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA and one of 24 Scarlet Knights from all sports to hold down a 4.0 for the 2019-20 academic year.
Elinah Phillip
An art major, Phillip set three school records (50 free, 200 free relay & 400 free relay) and two pool records (200 free relay & 800 free relay). She also had Big Ten Championship podium finishes with in the 50 free in addition to the 200 and 400 free relays.
Marina Wilkins
An economics major, Wilkins competed on the 3-meter and platform at zones capturing a career-best score on the 3-meter. She was also named a Big Ten All-Academic academic performer.
