Over 1,400 Division I women student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 244 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
FGCU led the way for the ASUN and tied for the most scholar-athletes recognized in the state as UCF also had eight players awarded.
"These ladies work hard every single day. This team has goals and a vision of where they want to continue to grow and develop themselves, not just in tennis but also in academics," said head coach Courtney Vernon. "This is a testament of their work ethic and I am confident they will continue to see the value in challenging themselves and others."
This past Spring semester, the team posted a team 3.80 GPA as four Eagles collected 4.0s to end the term (Sara Kelly, Maja Ornberg, Sofia Perez and Alba Retortillo). The remaining four members (Ida Ferding, Julia Fisch, Satomi Momose and Lourdes Ramalle) recorded at least 3.5 GPA.
