In the last four weeks alone, the BIG EAST Player of the Year has racked up eight accolades with the biggest of them all coming on Friday.
That's when the dynamic graduate student from Athens, Greece was selected CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team by the national organization of college sports information directors.
That is the ultimate academic achievement for a collegiate athlete with CoSIDA membership voting based on both athletic competition and classroom prowess.
On the tennis court, she led DePaul to the BIG EAST title match and was recognized as the premier women's tennis player in the conference. Avgeri ran off a 10-match winning streak that had her unbeaten for a span of 11 weeks.
Her academic performance was off the charts with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average studying for her master's degree in Finance.
Avgeri graduated summa cum laude in June of 2020 with a 3.953 GPA earning a bachelor's degree in Finance.
Just last week, Avgeri became the first Blue Demon male or female in school history to win the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. She also became the first women's tennis player in BIG EAST history to earn that distinction.
Avgeri's perfect GPA led the way for the women's tennis program to win a BIG EAST Team Excellence Award with a sparkling 3.93 team GPA.
She also swept both the BIG EAST Sport Excellence Award for women's tennis and the BIG EAST Institutional Scholar-Athlete Award.
Other accolades in the last four weeks include the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete Award and the ITA Team Academic Award along with CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.
A victory over Butler All-BIG EAST First Team selection Natalie Boesing in the conference quarterfinals extended Avgeri's winning streak to 10, and she wound up winning 10 of her final 11 matches.
She also teamed with Maddie Yergler to go a team-best 11-4 in doubles.
Avgeri's most notable singles win came on April 9 in Cincinnati with a 6-4, 7-6(7-5) triumph over Xavier's nationally ranked Ahmeir Kyle.
Overall, Avgeri finished with an 11-3 record at No. 1 singles and was 5-1 against BIG EAST opponents including the postseason.
"What truly sets her apart is that she is also the best teammate," said Blue Demons coach Marisa Arce. "Aspa excels on and off the court, but still always has time for others. If you need anything, Aspa is always there and willing to help or support.
"Aspa does it all, and she is the prime example of a student athlete. She does everything flawlessly, and I'm so proud of her."
