Sinacola put forth one of the greatest single season performances in Maine Baseball history, breaking just about every strikeout record he could over 11 starts. He finished the regular season leading the conference in ERA (2.12), WHIP (1.04), strikeouts (128), and wins (8) while ranking second in the nation in both strikeouts and strikeouts per nine (15.93). Sinacola was also named First Team All-Conference, and becomes the first Maine pitcher since Tommy Lawrence in 2013 to earn the award for the league's top arm.
Joining him on the First Team is the offensive leader of the Black Bears, senior Sean Lawlor. Lawlor led the team in just about every major statistical category while ranking among the top ten in the conference in batting average (.358), on base percentage (.439), home runs (7), RBI (36), and hits (53). He picked up his 200th career hit earlier in the season, carrying over from his success at Flagler College, and rides a 16-game hitting streak into the America East Playoffs.
Freshman Noah Lewis appears as one of the 11 selections on the All-Rookie Team after spending most of his first year in Orono as the No. 2 starter behind Sinacola. Lewis picked up four victories on the season, logging 43 strikeouts in 59.0 innings.
Rounding out the group is second-year freshman Connor Goodman, who was selected to the All-Academic Team thanks to a 3.92 GPA while studying Management and carries the seconod highest GPA out of the eleven honorees. He's batting .296 this season with 48 hits, and ranks fourth in the conference and 66th in the nation as the toughest batter to strikeout, averaging 9.5 at bats between strikeouts.
The Black Bears face Stony Brook this Thursday in the first round of the America East playoffs, with an 11:00 first pitch on ESPN+.
