FARMINGTON – The Portland State men's tennis team made program history by having five players named to the All-Big Sky teams on Friday.
With five postseason honors as a team, the Vikings set a program record for the most All-Conference nods in a single season.
Highlighting the group was senior Nikola Dimitrijevic. The No. 3 singles threat notched first-team All-Conference honors after defeating all four of his regular-season Big Sky opponents. Dimitrijevic boasted a team-high nine singles victories to finish the year at 9-7 overall.
2019 second-team Big Sky selection Matteo Fortini tallied six wins at the top spot for PSU in singles action during his 2021 campaign. Ending the year at 6-10 overall, the Italy native added another second-team All-Conference recognition to round out his Viking career.
No stranger to postseason awards, decorated senior Tommy Edwards clinched his fourth All-Conference nod, receiving honorable mention singles honors following a seven-win season at the two spot.
In doubles, Fortini and Edwards were named second-team All-Big Sky. The veteran duo led PSU with seven victories at the No. 1 position with a 2-1 record during regular season conference action.
Newcomer Tommy Hsu and senior returner Sam Roberts found their groove as a duo midway through the season. The No. 3 doubles pair finished with a 4-2 record (2-0 BSC) on their way to an Honorable Mention recognition.
