ELKINS — Buckhannon-Upshur’s Shelby McDaniels and Philip Barbour’s Alyssa Hill are among several area underclassmen recently named to the All-Big 10 Conference girls basketball team.
McDaniels, a guard, and Hill, a forward, are both juniors and were selected to the first team.
McDaniels, who was also a Class AAAA all-state second-team selection, averaged 16 points for the Lady Bucs.
Hill, was one of the top scorers and rebounders for the Lady Colts. She was a Class AAA all-state honorable-mention choice.
Elkins High School junior guard Anna Belan, B-U freshman guard Gabby Parke and Philip Barbour sophomore forward Emily Denison earned spots on the second unit.

Belan and Denison were previously tabbed Class AAA all-state honorable-mention selections.
The remainder of the first team includes Bridgeport’s Paige Humble and Gabby Reep, Fairmont Senior’s Meredith Maier and Marley Washenitz, Lewis County’s Olivia Krinov, Lincoln’s Hannah Ferris, North Marion’s Karlie Denham and Olivia Toland and Preston’s Michelle Thomas.
Humble, Krinov, Ferris, Denham and Thomas are seniors, while the rest of the first team is comprised of juniors and sophomores.
Other second-team selections included East Fairmont’s Kierra Bartholow and Somer Stover, Fairmont Senior’s Emily Starn, Lewis County’s Emma Cayton, Lincoln’s Madi Martin, North Marion’s Katlyn Carson, Preston’s Carsynn Sines and Robert C. Byrd’s Victoria Sturm.
