Will Olson
The Augustana backstop is hitting .349 on the season with 51 hits. Even more impressive, over half of Olson's hits have gone for extra bases with 12 doubles, one triple and 15 dingers. The power numbers continue with 36 runs scored, 46 RBIs, a .753 SLG% and a .449 OBP%. His patience at the plate also shows with 23 walks on the year in addition to six hit by pitches.
Behind the dish, Olson is just as valuable with a .995 fielding percentage while gunning down 10 would-be base stealers.
Ryan Jares
The Viking ace has been nothing short of dominant on the mound in 2021. In 13 appearances and 10 starts, Jares is 6-1 with one save while boasting a 1.56 ERA. In 63.1 innings pitched he has struck out 88 hitters and allowed just 11 earned runs to cross the plate.
His best display of dominance came on April 28 in Augustana's game two against then No. 11-ranked Minnesota State. After a 1-0 victory in game one, Jares pitched the Vikings to a sweep with a complete-game shutout that featured 14 strikeouts.
Carter Howell
The leadoff man for the Vikings has put up cleanup hitter numbers this season. Starting all 47 games, Howell is hitting .430 with 56 runs scored, 80 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, nine homers, 44 RBIs, a .683 SLG%, 19 walks, 11 HBPs and an incredible .507 OBP%.
On the basepaths, Howell is equally as dangerous with 27 steals in 29 attempts, a mark that led the conference.
