
PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The Drexel women's rowing team closed out the CAA Rowing Championship in second place overall and had three rowers named to the All-CAA Team Sunday morning on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. The Dragons raced to silver medals in three of the Championship's four races. Drexel seniors Margarita Amihava, Julianna Hunt, and Kylie Magee took home All-CAA honors.
The varsity eight, which came in as the reigning CAA gold medalist, finished 4.2 seconds behind Northeastern to take the silver medal in the Alleva XVII boat. In the race prior, the second varsity eight raced closely with the Huskies, finishing less than two seconds behind for the silver in the Cara Fry boat in a race that was decided in the final 100 meters. Drexel's varsity four, racing in the Marci shell, also took the silver, racing to a time of 7:44.821, less than three seconds shy of Northeastern's pace. The third varsity eight opened the morning with a fourth-place finish in the Marlene Buckley II boat with a time of 7:18.062.
The Dragons have now finished second overall in each of the last six CAA Rowing Championships.
