Eastern Michigan has placed 10-or-more student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team for the seventh-straight season, dating back to 2014-15.
Eight seniors received the honor for the third time in their careers: Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este), Hunter Ignasiak (Rockford, Mich.-Rockford), Carlee Jones (Edgewood, Ky.-Notre Dame Academy), Abby Rapien (Cincinnati, Ohio-Taylor), Micaela Schempf (Bowling Green, Ohio-Bowling Green), Meike Staffeldt (Niedersachsen, Germany), Ali Staver (Bettendorf, Iowa-Pleasant Valley), and Avrie Stewart (Menominee, Mich.-Menominee). Classmate Kaitlynd Scanlan (Waukesha, Wis.-Pewaukee) earned the accolade for the second time in her career.
Receiving the distinction for the first time in their careers was junior Lainie Bell (Atlanta, Ga.-Druid Hills), along with sophomores Kelsi Hill (Indian Trail, N.C.-Union Academy), Carlin Hudson (Chattanooga, Tenn.-Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences), Abigail Wenger (Upper Sandusky, Ohio-Upper Sandusky), and Hannah White (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel).
To be eligible for the Academic All-MAC award, student-athletes must hold a GPA of at least 3.20, be at least a sophomore in academic standing, and have participated in at least 50% of contests during the season.
