Taylor Earns All-America Honors From D1Baseball - Central Michigan University Chippewas

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Andrew Taylor was named to the D1Baseball All-America Second Team on Tuesday.

Taylor is the lone representative from the MAC to earn a spot on the nationally acclaimed publications' three All-America squads.
 
Taylor, a freshman right-hander from Alto, finished 11-4 with a 1.81 earned run average in 2021 in leading the Chippewas to the Mid-American Conference championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.
 
He struck out a program-record 125 in 94 1/3 innings while walking just 24. He held opposing hitters to a .189 batting average.
 
Taylor was named the MAC Pitcher of the Year and the MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year and has earned All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association, Baseball America, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
 
He was also named the Freshman Pitcher of the Year by the NCBWA and the co-National Freshman of the Year by Collegiate Baseball.
