It was a big day for Parrella as she also was selected fifth in the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse College Draft, which aired earlier today.
Parrella is only the sixth player in program history to earn IWLCA All-American honors twice in their respective careers, joining Stephanie Clarke (1996, 1997), Kathleen Mikowski (2001, 2003), Bridget Eder (2004, 2005), Kimberly Hillier (2006, 2007), and Corrine Gandolfi (2009, 2010).
Last month, Parrella was named to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Third Team and to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-America Team.
Named an IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team honoree last month and an All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team honoree this season, Parrella led Hofstra back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007.
Parrella posted 63 points on 45 goals and 18 assists this season, while also adding 54 draw controls, 11 ground balls, and three caused turnovers. She led Hofstra in goals, points, and draw controls, and ranked second in assists and sixth in ground balls.
Parrella finished her career with 261 goals to rank 10th all-time in NCAA history. She also ranks 15th all-time in NCAA history with 355 points.
Parrella's 261 goals and 355 points are both tops all-time in Hofstra and CAA history. Her 94 assists ranks second at Hofstra and ninth in CAA history. Parrella closed with 196 draw controls to rank fourth in program history and seventh in the CAA.
Hofstra finished with six wins during the 2021 campaign and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where it dropped a narrow decision to #9 Loyola.
