Jaziri Finishes 10th at NCAA Championships, Earns Second Team All-America Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Eastern Kentucky University junior Ahmed Jaziri earned second team All-America honors by finishing 10th in the finals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday night at Hayward Field.
 
Jaziri clocked a time of 8:34.8 in his final race of the season. The native of Rades, Tunisia was a first team All-American in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
 
Middle Tennessee State's Kigen Chemadi won gold in Friday's final with a time of 8:28.2.
 
EKU has now had a runner compete in the NCAA men's steeplechase final in six of the last eight years.
