KENT, Ohio – Kent State senior Vital Kats have been named to the Academic All-District Women's Soccer First Team for District 5, CoSIDA announced on Thursday.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. All first team honorees now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with honorees to be announced in early July.
Kats, who was a second team selection the two previous seasons, graduated with a degree in business administration and entered her final semester with a 3.90 cumulative GPA.
On the field, the midfielder earned All-MAC Second Team honors as she led the Golden Flashes with three assists and 18 shots during the shortened seven-match spring season. Kats finished her career as a four-time All-MAC selection, which included a pair of first team nods, and made her mark in the school record book. She ranks fourth on the career assists list (24), while ranking fifth in points (68) and sixth in goals (22).
