Porter is just one of five players named to the First Team, joined by Lena Kurz from UIC, Amirah Ali from Rutgers, Sam Coffey from Penn State, and Delanie Sheehan from UCLA. The 10 student-athletes across the First and Second teams were previous selected as finalists for the 2021 Senior CLASS Award, which was ultimately won by Lena Kurz.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character, and competition.
Porter, a two-time United Soccer Coaches First Team Scholar All-America selection, owns a 3.77 cumulative GPA as a Community Health major with minors in neuroscience and psychology.
Following the 2021 season, Porter became the first USC First Team All-America selection in Hofstra program history, while collecting a slew of additional accolades. She was named the Colonial Athletic Association Midfielder of the Year honors for the second-straight year and landed a spot on the All-CAA First Team for the third consecutive season.
Porter scored 10 goals and added four assists in 2021, leading Hofstra to a 7-1-1 overall record. Her goals per game and points per game total ranked fourth in the nation, leading Hofstra to the top scoring offense ranking in the country.
The Birmingham, England native has 98 points under her belt during her Hofstra career on 41 goals and 16 assists. Her 98 points rank third in program history while her goal tally is also third at Hofstra.
