Ten Patriot League Student-Athletes Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Football Teams - Patriot League Official Athletic Site

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Ten Patriot League football student-athletes were selected to the Academic All-District teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The League had six student-athletes named to the District 1 team, and four recognized on the District 2 squad.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams are voted on by members of CoSIDA whose schools are in the region.  District 1 includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. District 2 consists of schools from Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.30 or better and be a starter or key reserve.
 
Fordham and Holy Cross each had three student-athletes on the District 1 team with senior linebacker Glenn Cunningham (economics, 3.49 GPA), junior linebacker Ryan Greenhagen (business administration, 3.83 GPA) and senior offensive lineman Nick Zakelj (finance, 3.65 GPA) representing the Rams. Senior defensive back Grant Holloman (political science, 3.44 GPA), junior defensive lineman Jason Modak (economics, 3.63 GPA), junior running back Peter Oliver (chemistry/Spanish, 3.95 GPA) were selected from the Crusaders.
 
Bucknell senior linebacker Rick Mottram (mechanical engineering, 3.97 GPA), the Patriot League Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was named to the academic all-district team for the third time. He was joined by teammate, senior defensive lineman Conner Romango (accounting and financial management, 3.53 GPA). Lehigh junior wide receiver Austin Dambach (finance, 3.95 GPA) and senior linebacker Pete Haffner (finance, 3.68 GPA) earned spots on the team.

Bucknell’s Mottram, Romango Honored on Academic All-District 2 Team

Bucknell's Rick Mottram and Conner Romango were honored on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Football Team, the organization announced.
 
With Mottram and Romango's recognition, the Bison have now placed at least one student-athlete on the Academic All-District 2 Team each of the past seven seasons. Since 1981, Bucknell has earned 57 Academic All-District 2 Team citations. Mottram, a 2019 CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American, is now a three-time Academic All-District 2 Football Team member. Romango, also a senior, captured his first career Academic All-District nod.
 
Three Football Rams Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Fordham University senior linebacker Glenn Cunningham, senior offensive lineman Nick Zakelj, and junior linebacker Ryan Greenhagen were named first team CoSIDA Academic All-District®. They now advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
 
Additionally, Greenhagen was one of 54 FCS players named to the 23rd Annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team.
 
Three Holy Cross Football Student-Athletes Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Junior running back Peter Oliver, junior defensive lineman Jason Modak and senior defensive back Grant Holloman of the Holy Cross football team have earned 2020-21 Academic All-District I honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
 
Oliver is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree, having earned a spot on the 2019-20 team. Also a two-time Academic All-Patriot League selection, Oliver started all four contests this spring, rushing for 226 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries. Modak becomes an Academic All-District selection for the first time. He started all four games this season at defensive tackle, totaling eight tackles, including four tackles for loss and a sack. Holloman earns a spot on the Academic All-District team for the first time in his career. A team captain during the 2021 spring season, Holloman appeared in all four games, totaling 14 tackles, including 12 solo tackles.
 
Dambach and Haffner Named CoSIDA Academic All-District for Second Straight Season

Two members of the Lehigh football program have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team announced Thursday. Linebacker Pete Haffner and wide receiver Austin Dambach were both recognized in 2019 and now earn Academic All-District honors for the second straight season. Both Mountain Hawks will now advance on the ballot for potential Academic All-America recognition. Back in April, Haffner and Dambach represented Lehigh football on the Academic All-Patriot League team for the Spring 2021 season. Haffner graduated last month with a 3.68 GPA as a finance major. Dambach is also a finance major, who carries a 3.93 cumulative GPA.
