Drew Timme named Preseason AP All-American - The Slipper Still Fits

Gonzaga Bulldogs big man Drew Timme was named a preseason AP All-American and was the only unanimous selection.

He is joined by Illinois’ Kofi Cockburn, UCLA’s Johnny Juzang, Villanova’s Colling Gillespie, and Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Timme was named a second-team All American last season and also won the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year last season. He exploded last season in his sophomore year, averaging 19 points and seven rebounds per game. This season, he is widely considered one of the best college players in the game and is a favorite to win the national Player of the Year awards.

Joined by incoming phenom Chet Holmgren in the post, Timme will anchor one of the top frontcourts in the country and is a big reason why Gonzaga is the preseason No. 1 team and heavily expecting another deep run through March.

The Zags begin the season on Oct. 31 with their first exhibition game of the year. The true season starts on Nov. 9 against Dixie State.
