Headlining the honors is Morgan Reitano, who was named to the All-League First Team. She is the first Mastodon to receive First Team All-League honors since Tylar Allison was named to the All-Summit First Team in 2012.
Morgan Reitano played a pivotal role in the Mastodons' success this season, including scoring the game winning goal against Robert Morris to beat the Colonials 3-2 in OT, and scoring two goals against Wright State in a 2-1 victory. She led the 'Dons in goals with six, in points with 13 and added one assist. Her goals mark is tied for eighth in the Horizon League. The 'Dons are 4-1 when she scores a goal. She picked up one Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week honor in 2021.
Fanning was named to the All-League Second Team for the second season in a row. Fanning is second on the team, and first among field athletes, in minutes played (1,580), and played a key role in four defensive shutouts. The Purdue Fort Wayne defense led by Fanning allowed the fifth lowest goals per game average in program history (1.56). Fanning is the first Mastodon to earn all-league honors twice in her career since Tara O'Toole in 2010 and 2011.
Bella Reitano was named to the All-League Freshman Team. She made her presence felt once league play began, scoring all four of her goals in an eight game span. She had two goals and the game winning assist against Robert Morris. She ranks second on the team in goals (four), third on the team in points (nine), and added one assist. Her goal mark is tied for second among freshman in the Horizon League. This is the second season in a row a Mastodon received this honor. Rylee Vruggink was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman team last spring.
The Mastodons will play in the Horizon League Championship quarterfinals on Sunday, Oct. 31 (1 p.m.) against Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights, Ky.
