Encore! Books is back! As an important fundraiser, Friends of the Voorheesville Library is eager to get our doors open and delighted we can get books and media back into the hands of our patrons. The selection available has never been better, and the time has allowed us to streamline our inventories’ organization.

Our season begins on Tuesday, May 4, at 10 a.m. Think happy thoughts, blue skies, sunshine, and warmth.  Books (hardcover and paperbacks), books on CD, DVDs (children’s and adults), CDs (by the hundreds), and puzzles fill our shelves and carts.

All are welcome to browse for treasures that are looking to make their way to your home.  Everyone should be able to find something that fits their interest.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place for volunteers and patrons alike. Protocols will include signing in, wearing masks (supplied by you), use of hand sanitizer, and social distancing. We will have plenty of hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and sanitizing aerosol spray for after a patron browses a book area. We request that you bring your own gloves if you cannot use hand sanitizer or if you want that layer of protection.

This year we will ask you to deposit your monetary donation into a container. Your donation amount will be based on your own discretion.  We have used this approach all winter, which has proven to be quite successful. We are always grateful for the generosity of the community.

Due to space constraints, we need to place limitations on how many book and media donations we can accept at any one time. Therefore, we will limit each vehicle to two boxes and/or bags during any one visit.

This will only include those items that we take in. We ask for your patience while we sort through what you have to bring to us. Our Facebook page has a post that lists what we can and cannot accept. We will also have paper copies of this list at Encore! Books.

We will be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. although the schedule is subject to change.
