Burnet Consolidated Independent School District voters approved all four of the bond proposals on the May 1 ballot.
Overall, the bond package comes in at about $52.5 million.
“On behalf of the students, staff, Board of Trustees, and administration, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for the support of the Burnet CISD bond program and the passages of Propositions A, B, C, and D,” said BCISD Superintendent Keith McBurnett in a statement. “Additionally, I would like to thank the Facilities Advisory Committee members for their input in developing the bond program and to those who supported that put out signs, handed out push cards, and helped inform the community about the bond.”
The bond was separated into for proposals as required by state law.
- Proposition A at $27.5 million for facility improvements and accommodations for student growth passed 1,221-597.
- Proposition B at $11.8 million for high school and middle school athletic facilities passed 972-838.
- Proposition C at $4.3 million for instructional technology, infrastructure, and security passed 1,208-605.
- Proposition D at $8.9 million for a multipurpose student activities center passed 956-857.
McBurnett pointed out that the bond program was developed in a collaborative and transparent manner and said the management of the projects will be handled just as transparently. Residents can follow the progress of the bond project through the district’s website.
“Tonight’s results represent the end of the election but only the beginning of a lot of work head,” McBurnett stated. “So, let me take this opportunity to ask you ahead of time to pardon our mess as we begin to make needed renovations across the district. Thank you again for your support.”
