SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- Augustana soccer saw two of its players earn honors for the 2021 D2CCA Women's Soccer All-Central Region Teams. Seniors Savannah Ellender and Morgan Keirstead garenered second-team all-central region honors after Augustana's 14-4-2 season.
Ellender has been a key member of the Augustana defense. The Vikings held their opponents to 10.7 shots this season with the help of Ellender. She recorded her first-career goal in a 2-0 victory at Southwest Minnesota State. Ellender was named the NSIC Player of the Week and helped Augustana to 11 shutouts this season. Ellender also earned First Team All-NSIC honors for the fall season.
Keirstead recorded 22 points in the fall, scoring seven goals and registering eight assists. Two of her goals were marked as the game-winning goal. She also totaled two games with two goals, the Vikings' win at Minnesota Crookston and the win at St. Cloud State. She tallied 25 shots on goal and has marked at least one shot in 18 of 19 games played. Keirstead earned First Team All-NSIC honors for her performance this season.
