Softball Place Program-Record 16 on Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Team - Hartfordhawks.com

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Hartford softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaching Association (NFCA) for posting one of the top grade-point averages in NCAA Division I in 2020-21. In addition, a program-record 16 members of the Hawks softball team received Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete honors, which recognizes individuals who own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better, from the organization. 
 
Highlighting the impressive list of honorees are Emma Armstrong and Mara Sczecienski, who have each earned perfect 4.0 GPAs during their academic careers. Ally Beck, Lauren Card, Haley Cassidy, Emma Curry, Caylee English, Paige Fedak, Kianna Harris, Julianna Kocenski, Samantha Nagel, Danielle Rocheleau, Lily Sencer, Zoe Truxon, Alyssa Viscardo and Milena Wilson were also named NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes. 
 
As a team, the Hawks combined for a 3.73 GPA, which was the seventh-highest mark among all NCAA Division I squads. In addition, the softball team posted one of the top GPAs in Hartford's Department of Athletics, ranking second, behind women's soccer (3.74), among its 17 Division I programs.
 
The softball team knocked it out of the park during the Spring 2021 semester with 100-percent of its roster earning Academic Honor Roll distinction from the America East for achieving a GPA of 3.0 or better. Furthermore, 21 of the team's 23 members received Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition for earning a minimum GPA of 3.5.
