Graham, Jones Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team - Duke University - GoDuke.com

DURHAM – Senior Delaney Graham and junior Ruthie Jones have each been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America recently announced.

Graham picks up Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season, while Jones earns the distinction for the first time in her career. Duke is one of four ACC schools with two players tapped to an All-District team across the five districts in which the conference is represented, alongside Florida State, Syracuse and Virginia.

First-team selections move on to the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America teams, which will be released in early December.

A 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-American, Graham receives yet another recognition for her efforts both on the pitch and in the classroom during her career at Duke. The Atlanta, Ga., native has appeared in 79 games over the past four seasons with 77 starts – including a start in all 18 matches in her current senior campaign – and has excelled as a defender, midfielder and forward. She is a two-time All-ACC selection and was tapped to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team this past spring.

Graham, a biology major, owns a 3.93 GPA and has twice been named to the All-ACC Academic Team and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Jones becomes the 23rd player in program history to be named to an Academic All-District Team. The first-team All-ACC goalkeeper has established herself as one of the top players in the nation at her position this season, as her .833 save percentage is the highest among ACC keepers and her 0.51 goals against average ranks seventh in the NCAA. She has recorded eight complete-game shutouts and has made 45 saves to just nine goals allowed.

The Charlotte, N.C., native is majoring in psychology and maintains a 3.77 GPA. She was included on the ACC Honor Roll in each of the past two seasons and was a 2020-21 All-ACC Academic Team member.

Duke now boasts 40 total Academic All-District selections since 2001.

Coming off a thrilling last-minute victory over Old Dominion on Friday night, the No. 1-seeded Blue Devils head into the second round of the NCAA Championship, where they will face the winner of Sunday's LSU versus Memphis match. The game will be held Friday, Nov. 19 at Koskinen Stadium with a start time yet to be announced.
