BETHLETHEM, Pa. – The La Salle men's cross country team landed in seventh place at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Regionals with fifth-year Ryan James leading the charge.The Explorers finished in seventh place in the 26-team field. They totaled 211 points and clocked in an average time of 31:51. La Salle finished ahead of fellow Atlantic 10 conference members George Washington, Saint Joseph's and Duquesne.
James earned All-Region honors for his performance in the race.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- James was the first to cross the line for La Salle. He recorded an average mile time of 5:01.5 and clocked in at 31:12.4.
- Taonga Mbambo started with a steady pace clocking in under five minutes at the 1-mile split, 4:55.6. He finished the race in 30th with a final time of 31:26.0.
- James Ptack earned a place in the top 50 alongside teammate Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky. Ptack, who made his first NCAA Regionals appearance, came in 44th place with a total time of 32:00.3. Jaciw-Zurakowsky followed closely behind in 47th crossing the line at 32:05.1.
- Andres Hernandez and Matthew Bridger finished back-to-back in 66th and 67th, respectively. Hernandez clocked in at 32:38.7 while Bridger recorded a time of 32:32.3.
