Guillory and Gordon were both named to the first team while Maher and Gillette earned second team recognition with Williams on the third team.
Gordon, a senior, was named Southland Midfielder of the Year as well. The Clophill, England native started all 17 matches for the Lady Lions. Now the all-time program leader in games played (86), Gordon was named to the first team for the second straight season.
Guillory, a forward, led the Lady Lions in goals (5), assists (5), shots (36), shots on goal (23) and points (15). The Prairieville, Louisiana native is making her second straight appearance on the All-Southland team after being named to the second team in 2020. Guillory, who was also named Southland Offensive Player of the Week last week after scoring a goal and recording an assist against Nicholls, has 15 career goals.
Gillette is making her first appearance on the All-Southland team. The senior started 17 matches this season scoring two goals and also had two assists. Out of Meridian, Mississippi, Gillette was fourth among defenders in the conference in shots with 15. She also scored the game-winning goal against Houston Baptist in a 2-0 win by SLU back on Sept. 16th.
Maher is also making her debut on the league's team of elite. The Lady Lions' goalkeeper finished the regular season second in the conference in goals against average (.739) during league play allowing just 10 goals in 12 Southland matches. The Dublin, Ireland product also had three shutouts in Southland play which was tied for second. The senior is fifth all-time in program history with 280 career saves.
Williams, a forward, earned her way on to the third team for the Lady Lions. Out of Frisco, Texas, Williams had three goals, two assists, 19 shots and nine on goal during the regular season. The junior was also the focal point of opposing defenses due to her speed and athleticism within the counter attack.
Regular season champion Northwestern State led the way with 10 selections to the All-Southland team, including Southland Player of the Year Olivia Draguicevich.
The league will commence this week for the 2021 Southland Conference Tournament beginning Wednesday in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Lady Lions (6-8-3, 4-5-3 Southland) enter as the fifth seed and will take on host team, fourth-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus (7-10-1, 5-6-1 Southland), Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Dr. Jack Dugan Track and Soccer Complex.
